Goddess Yoga Workshop with Brooke

The Goddess Yoga Workshop is yoga for women designed to connect us with our innate divine feminine energy. The workshop will introduce concepts in Hindu Mythology and offer insights from the book, “Awakening Shakti: The Transformative Power of the Goddesses of Yoga.”

We will begin with a meditation to connect with our own inner goddess. The one-hour yoga flow portion will combine elements of vinyasa, boudoir dance, and hip-hop music. The sensual flow is created to spark the powerful creative divine feminine energy or Shakti and allow it to move through us freely. We will end with 30 minutes of a more yin style practice to open up the hips. Followed by 15 minutes of pranayama (breath work) to open the channels of our yoni to heart connection.

The workshop will leave us feeling empowered in our bodies, connected to our intuition, and inspired by the beautiful, sensual, goddess energy that is present within.

Functional Float Flow with Hiro Landazuri

The way I was taught new yoga poses (as with just about all of us) was to keep trying the same pose over and over until we mastered it. But what if there was a more efficient way to get to the same result? Someone once said “We are all headed towards our ‘true North’ in this world. It’s just that most of us go South and take the long way around to get there.”

In this master class, we will flow progressively into more involved transitions and postures to increase consistency and ease in moving in and out of the arm balances and inversions throughout our practice.

We will break down the elements of inversions as well as explore unique exercises towards helping you access the power already inside of you. Please join Jennifer for a two-hour workshop that focusses on introducing different styles of yoga and mindfulness that can help ease work related stressors, such as burnout, that front-line providers commonly experience. In the first hour, you will receive an overview of the how yoga and mindfulness can be used to increase self-awareness and emotional regulation through balancing the spinal curves for long periods of standing, addressing lower back pain through restorative yoga, exploring how to sustain a strong pelvic floor and nourish the body through pranayama breath. The second hour will include a full restorative yoga practice, which will leave you in a state of ease by bringing the body into a rest-and-digest state, which we often do not get to experience in stressful times. Foundations in SmartFLOW®: Vairagya with Tiffany Russo

Part Two: VAIRAGYA

The Path of Radical Acceptance; All is Coming!

Vairagya is the ability to accept everything that arises with evenness and equanimity. It is the basis for the cultivation of community and the essence of every teacher who wishes to inspire her students. Vairagya reveals and celebrates the present moment in all its unpredictabilty and originality.

As we delve deeper into the practices, we encounter everything on the spiritual path: strength and flexibility as well as weakness and pain; we find the greatest joy as well as fear and doubt. As spiritual aspirants and guides we gather and balance our energies and intentions to become the light embodied, beacons on this path.

VAIRAGYA includes:

  • Advanced Asana: bringing multiple movement principles together in a playful, balanced way
  • Creative sequencing that encourages you to find your voice and vary your focus and themes
  • Pranayama, guided meditation and philosophical themes as integral, inseparable elements of the practice
  • Yoga for longevity: learn modifications for injury prevention and rehabilitation
  • Cultivating clear languaging with its basis in structural awareness and thematic development
  • Hands-on adjustments that educate your students
  • Teacher student relationships: inspire without enmeshing
  • Cultivating your life-long home practice: tools for deepening awareness and developing source material for teaching

Foundations in SmartFLOW®: Abhyasa with Tiffany Russo

The Path of the Sadhana; Do your Practice!

This first section establishes you in the roots and rituals of Yoga. Abhyasa means practice, or the effort towards aligning and re-aligning one’s attention to the present moment.

We will employ the yogic practices of asana, pranayama (breathwork), chanting, and various methods of meditation as our elemental practice. You will gain a profound understanding of the foundational asanas as alignment tools for safe physical practice, and for yoking the mind to this moment. Asanas are presented as elemental, sustaining, deepening and as a means to return to center to illuminate the path of creative sequencing.

In addition we will consider various ethical observances to inform and sustain our choices on our mats, with our students, and in daily life.

ABHYASA includes:

  • Asana practice engaging body, mind and spirit
  • The deconstruction of asana into primary movement principles for clarity of alignment and sequencing
  • Functional Anatomy and Physiology: presented in short segments to support the movement and breath principles with relevance and meaning.
  • Movement inquiries for evolving a keen and subtle awareness of Proprioception that you can awaken in your students
  • History and Philosophical concepts of classical Yoga
  • Pranayama practices to refine attention and shift vital energy
  • Dharana: multiple paths to focus your mind for contemplation
  • Basic Sanskrit pronunciation for key concepts
  • Yama and Niyama: learning and living the yogic ethical observances, on and of the mat
