Yoga for me is healing and understanding. Yoga takes time and a level of surrender that changes how we see things. Many teachers influenced my teaching style of a strong alignment-based vinyasa practice; the strongest for me are Annie Carpenter, Baron Baptiste, Jason Crandell, and Dice Iida-Klein.Breath always takes the forefront of my classes as I begin and continue the class centered around the power of pranayama. The main focus of my class changes by day but the breath is always constant. My style of yoga is smooth, fun and lighthearted--in every pose there is opportunity to return to center and soften. I encourage my students to pay close and constant attention to the sensations yoga brings out. I also teach Restorative Yoga that aims to help my students release tension hidden deep in their lives on and off the mat. What really inspires me to teach is my continued faith and belief in yoga’s ability to restore and heal the body as well as the mind. It's seeing people leave a class happy and with a greater understanding of their bodies that makes me happiest.
